Editor, The Herald:

I attended the Class of 2012 Academic Banquet, November 3. The event was held to celebrate the Honor Jacket Recipients in which my granddaughter, Debra Sue Shumaker, was one of the recipients.

I was impressed with the professional manner throughout the program. The program was planned by the Counseling Department of Prince Edward County High School under the direction of Ms. Maribeth Ewing.

Dr. David Smith, Superintendent of Schools, welcomed the guests. Afterwards, a buffet meal was served by Bruce Davis, Food Service Manager, and his catering staff.

Other school officials present were: School Board members, Craig Reed, Principal of Prince Edward County High School, and Cambridge representatives.

In closing, a video, prepared by Deborah Rush, was shown of the senior class. Pictures of their early childhood and their senior picture were shown.

We should be proud of our dedicated school staff.
