WASHINGTON, Nov. 10 – Janie L. (Allen) Gordon born September 15, 1928 in Pamplin passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2011 in Seattle, Washington. She was one of ten children born to Thomas H. Allen and Daisy Booker Allen.

Our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend lost the battle, however, she will be remembered for her love, laughter, kindness, free spirit, generous nature and her smiling face.

Mrs. Gordon leaves us to celebrate who she was, children, Gwen Gordon-Drayton (Houston), Stanley Gordon, and Evelyn Gordon; grandchildren, Matthew Drayton, Morgan Drayton, Janaye Gordon, Nathaniel Gordon, Deasia Gordon, and Denasia Gordon; sisters, Elsie Gant, Lillian Mouzon, B. Gloria Henderson, and Thelma Jones (Thriftone); brother, Wesley Allen (Beverly); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Nathaniel Gordon, brothers, Leroy Allen, Willie Allen, Howard Allen and sister, Marian Norwood.

Viewing will held Friday, November 11, at E. B. Allen Funeral Home from 10a.m. – 6p.m.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 12, at Sulphur Spring Baptist Church, Prospect, at 1 p.m.
