RICHMOND, Nov. 17 – Wilbur Edward “Ed” Ellis Jr., 66, of Richmond, died Tuesday, November 15, 2011. He was a member of the Thomas Jefferson High School Cadet Corps and served honorably as a 1st Lieutenant Ranger in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Ellis is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Paula Tunstall Ellis; daughters, Courtney Spence and husband, Eddie and Kimberley Allen and husband, J.R.; his father, Wilbur E. Ellis; brother, Gary Ellis and wife, Susan; grandchildren, Dyson and Claire Spence and Danner and Parker Allen, all of whom affectionately referred to him as “PopPops”; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 17 at Woody Funeral Home, Midlothian. Interment was in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
