October 5 – Belated birthday wishes are sent out this week to Patricia Woodfin, of New Canton, celebrating on Sunday, October 2; and Dick Midkiff, of Dillwyn, and Gladys Banton, of Scottsville, celebrating on Wednesday, October 5.

Congratulations to Dan (Shot) and Betty Jo LeSueur, of Dillwyn. They will celebrate their wedding anniversary on Thursday, October 6.

James and Virginia Boyles, of Cumberland, along with James' sister Elizabeth Stone, of Dillwyn, visited a relative at Hickory Hill Nursing Home in Burkeville and Alison Boyles in Amelia last week.

Browns Chapel United Methodist Church, located off of U.S. Route 15 North of Dillwyn on State Route 617 (Gravel Hill Road), will host a fall event on Friday evening, October 7, from 6-9 p.m. under the pavilion.
