My Vote Goes To David Meinhard

Editor, The Herald:

It is time for a change in Cumberland County. We, the taxpayers, can stand no more of the tax and spend we have seen from the Board of Supervisors and Mr. Womack.

Mr. Womack claims to have never voted against a business or industry locating in the county, but what has he voted for? We know he voted in favor of a landfill and a biosolid storage facility. He also voted in favor of the chicken-litter digester project.

While supporting these he did nothing to help bring in a concrete plant that wanted to locate in the county and joined other supervisors in making it, in my opinion, as difficult as possible for Dollar General to expand its store.

Also, as supervisor he has voted in favor of projects that have caused the county to be almost $50 million in debt.

Mr. Womack voted in favor of paying the county attorney $287,000 per year at the same time he was voting for an 18 cent (43%) increase in County property taxes. He has supported raising Cumberland County tax rates higher than those of our surrounding counties.

It is time to vote Mr. Womack out and replace him with someone who cares more about Cumberland than his own self interests. My vote goes to David Meinhard and I hope yours does too.
