Food Day Proclamation Signed

The signing of a proclamation requested by the Holistic Moms Network Southside Virginia chapter declaring Oct. 24 as Food Day in the Town of Farmville was held at the new Farmer's Market the morning of Sept. 27. Mayor Newman's signature was followed by breaking bread brought by Philip Fenaux, of The Bakery, and a jam by Natalie Kimmel. Allison Crews, leader of HMNSVA, announced that the national organization of HMN has declared October Holistic Living Month. Other events on the calendar include HMNSVA sponsoring the final Buffalo Creek Guitar Company Open Mic at the Crute Stage Oct. 5. The High Bridge Rail Club will also be open the same evening. On Oct. 13, HMNSVA will hold an Open House in lieu of their monthly meeting at the South Street Conference Center, 5:30-9pm. Everyone is welcome.
