DILLWYN, Oct. 4 – Carolyn Kay Moss, 61, of Dillwyn passed away Monday, October 3, 2011 in Dillwyn. Born in Charlottesville, August 5, 1950, Mrs. Moss was the daughter of the late John C. and Audrey Newton. She was a homemaker and babysitter and had formerly been employed with Fork Union Military Academy.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Stoney Moss; two sisters, Connie Thompson and Annette Allen; two brothers, Leon Newton and Layne Newton; nine nieces, Chastity Leighty, Rachel Allen, Karly Allen, Katelinn Allen, Kristen Allen, Haley Allen, Corie Thompson, Tasha Newton and Elvira Harris; seven nephews, Russell Newton, Jamie Newton, Jeremiah Newton, John Allen, Joseph Allen, Andrew Allen, and Cody Allen; four great-nieces, Alicia Newton, Zarinna Newton, Zoey Newton and Patience Leighty and great-nephews, Cameron Newton, Joshua Newton, and Matthew Newton and a very special friend, Tina Toney.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 6, in the Chapel of the Dunkum Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Rocky Mount Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
