SEPTEMBER 8 – Mary Bell Haskins was born on December 28, 1918 to the late Deacon Willie and Minnie Venable. She was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Johnston Willis Hospital, Richmond.

She was a very active member of Cornerstone Baptist Church until her health failed.

Mrs. Haskins was educated in Cumberland County Public School system. She loved to work in her garden, plant flowers and caring for her dog. She loved to travel, dance, she lived a full life and was always surrounded by her loving and devoted daughter Mary.

Mrs. Haskins was joined in holy matrimony to the late Ceasar Haskins. To this union eight children were born, one preceded her in death, Louise E. Blanton.

She leaves to cherish her memories seven children; sister; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and close friends. Two sisters also preceded her in death.

Left to hold her memories, one friend she took under her wing and cared for as her own daughter “Hattie Divens” and a very dedicated nurse's aide Virginia Harris. We thank God for her precious life of 92 years.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 19 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Cumberland, with the Rev. Lee Watkins Jr. officiating.
