SEPTEMBER 27 – Mabel Lucille Moorefield, 86, of Farmville, passed away Saturday morning, September 24, 2011 in Farmville. She was born May 9, 1925 in Nottoway County to the late Daniel and Bessie Jenkins Neathery. She was retired from Crewe Garment Company after 25 years of service and was a member of Crewe Baptist Church. She was the widow of Hilton L. Moorefield.

She is survived by a daughter, Peggy Shumaker of Farmville; granddaughters, Theresa M. Murray (Buck) of Rice and Penny Wagner (Paul) of Bedford; great-granddaughters, Lisa Lindsey (John) of Cumberland and Jordanna Wagner of Bedford; great-grandson, Kody Wagner also of Bedford; sister, Anne Simpson of Blackstone and brothers, Daniel Neathery of Matoaca and Charles Neathery of Chester. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Cliborne, Birdie Osborne and Edith Wilborn and her brothers, William, Robert, Hodges, John and David Neathery.

A graveside service was held Monday, September 26, at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Rice.
