On Thursday, Sept. 15, at 5:30 p.m., Historic Buckingham, Inc. will hold their annual Brunswick stew membership meeting at The Historic Village at Lee Wayside. Besides the presentation of the 2012 Calendar, the group will dedicate the first building actually built with volunteer labor on the historic park site. The blacksmith shop will be named “Abbitt Forge” after Watkins M. Abbitt Jr. who provided many of the tools for the shop. Peyton Anderson, blacksmith and Buckingham teacher, will be on hand to demonstrate his craft as head of the Blacksmith Guild of Vir-ginia. HBI will recognize its volunteers and will have items for sale. The stew dinner is $5. Information: (434) 969-4355.
