Editor, The Herald:

Are you concerned about losing your job because your employer can't afford to keep you? Do you spend time worrying if your children will be able to find a job when they graduate? Are you afraid that soon you will not be able to afford rising medical costs and skyrocketing interest rates?

Well, if you answered yes to any or all of these questions, then I want to tell you about a friend of mine who wants to make sure that those fears don't come true. On Tuesday, August 23, there are five candidates that are vying for your vote for State Senate, but there is only one, I believe, who has a plan and the determination to carry out that plan to protect and insure the prosperity for future generations.

That man is Tom Garrett. Tom serves as Commonwealth Attorney in Louisa County where he was raised and attended school. He attended the University of Richmond on an Army ROTC scholarship and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army field artillery from 1995-2000. After law school, Tom was an Assistant Attorney General under then Attorney General Bob McDonnell.

While serving as Commonwealth Attorney in Louisa County, Tom Garrett has helped set up the Child Safety Initiative that aggressively tracks down, apprehends, and punishes child predators. His record stands as one who defends families and children and he strongly believes in the preservation of our traditional family values.

Tom has a record of fighting in the field and in the courtroom to preserve our freedoms and our rights as given to us in the Constitution, and as Senator he will continue to fight for those rights we cherish so dearly. I hope that you will join me in supporting Tom Garrett for Virginia Senate. We need his leadership, his values, and his work ethic in Richmond to preserve this great Commonwealth of Virginia that we call home.

Lastly, Tom has received many notable endorsements including Virginia Citizens Defense League PAC, three of the nine GOP Chairmen in this Senate District, two Virginia State Delegates, and Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli. See you at the polls on Tuesday, August 23, and together we can send a conservative warrior to Richmond!
