Twin Lakes State Park Announces Weekend Events

Twin Lakes State Park announces the following weekend events:

Friday, Sept. 2, 4 p.m. “Creature Feature” – learn about one of the park's many amazing creatures; 8 p.m. “Make New Friends Campfire” – songs, new friends, stories and s'mores, meet at campfire circle behind Shelter 1;

Saturday, Sept. 3, 11 a.m. “Canoeing 101” – a guided canoe tour around Goodwin Lake, $5 per person, $4 per person for groups of 4+; 2 p.m. “Crafty Campers” – get crafty at the Nature Nook, $2 per person, $8 per family; 6:30 p.m. “Tales & Traditions” – join local author and story teller Francis Wood by the campfire for some s'mores; 9 a.m. “Owl Prowl” – prowl around as the sun goes down in search of these night dwellers;

Sunday, Sept. 4, 11 a.m. “Geocaching 101” – learn how its done, $3 per person, $8 per family; 2 p.m. “Lake Explorers” – dip nets in the water along the shore to see what creatures are there; 8:30 p.m. “Evening Canoe Tour” – an evening canoe float, learn about creatures that start their day in the dark and about the stars that grace the sky over the lakes, $5 per person, $4 per person in groups of 4+;

Monday, Sept. 5, 11 a.m. “Beaver Hike” – a hike around Goodwin Lake to spot the park's most eccentric resident, the beaver; 2 p.m. “Crafty Campers” – crafty at the Nature Nook, $2 per person, $8 per family; 8:30 p.m. “Movie Monday: Movies Under the Moon” – an outdoor movie, no charge, no food or drink provided (you can bring your own), bring chairs and blankets, (no alcohol), call the office for more information and to see what movie is playing.
