CUMBERLAND – The Cumberland County Committee of the Republican Party held its mass meeting on July 14 in Cumberland Court House and nominations were made for the Board of Supervisors.

According to Kathy Charleston, secretary and treasurer of the Committee, four candidates filed for republican nominations for the general election.

William Osl for supervisor for the First District, Lloyd Banks and Cliff White for supervisor for the Second District, and David Meinhard for supervisor of the Fourth District.

According to Ms. Charleston, all four candidates spoke, sharing their opinions and plans during the mass meeting.

“By virtue of being the lone nominees in the first and fourth districts, Osl and Meinhard will be the Republican candidates in those districts,” she provided to The Herald. “In a very close vote, Cliff White defeated Lloyd Banks for the second district nomination so (he) will be the Republican candidate in the second.”

Chris Shores is the Chair of the Cumberland Republican Committee and Carter Harrison is the Vice Chair.

The general election will be held on Tuesday, November 8. The Board of Supervisors, School Board, and Constitutional Officers are all up for election this fall.
