DILLWYN, Aug. 23 – C. Gertrude (Gertie) Moss, 72, of Dillwyn, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011 at her home. She was the wife of Nelson Moss for 47 years. Born in Buckingham on February 28, 1939, she was the daughter of the late James L. Whorley and Lillian Loving Whorley.

Mrs. Moss was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Buckingham.

She is survived by a son, Anthony N. Moss (and special friends, Crystal and Mason Ballowe) of Buckingham; daughter, Lisa M. Lann and husband, Steve of Dillwyn; two sisters, Anne Whorley of Mechanicsville and Mary Shumaker of Richmond; two grandsons, Cody Moss and wife, Ashley and Chase Moss of Buckingham; and two granddaughters, Micah and Danlee Parr of Texas.

The family will meet with friends on Tuesday, August 23, from 6 to 8 pm.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, at Dunkum Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with burial at the Buckingham Community Cemetery.
