RICHMOND, Aug. 9 – Edith O'Dell Lipe Gilbert, of Richmond, formerly of Cumberland, died on Sunday, August 7, 2011. She was the widow of Floyd J. Gilbert Sr.

She was retired from Cumberland Restaurant with many years of service.

Mrs. Gilbert is survived by a son, Floyd J. Gilbert Jr. and his friend, Pat M. Dudley of Richmond; sister, Lexie L. Davis of Rogersville, TN; brother, Paul M. Lipe of Richmond; two special nieces, Geraldine Coffey of Kingsport, TN and Donna Gregory of Sykesville, MD and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will meet Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Doyne-Burger-Davis Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be in the Center Presbyterian Church, Cumberland.

Doyne-Burger-Davis Funeral Home, Farmville, is in charge of the arrangements.
