AUGUST 9 – Cecil Ray Goforth, 75, of Farmville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 4, 2011. He was born May 6, 1936 in Sevier County, Tennessee to the late Charles Fred Goforth and Della W. Goforth.

He was retired from the town of Farmville and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Phyllis C. Goforth; daughter, Sally LeBetha Goforth of Farmville; three stepchildren, Robert Crater of Tamoca, WA, Brenda Brown of Prince Edward and Mark Crater of Cumberland; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three brothers, Carl G. Goforth, Charles Ed Goforth and William C. Goforth all of Farmville; two sisters, Helen G. Underwood of Pamplin and Sharon G. Harris of Appomattox, and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Memorial services will be held privately.
