William “Bill” Anderson, 51

DILLWYN, July 26 – William “Bill” Anderson, 51, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011 at his residence. He was born on December 28, 1959 in Lynchburg to Herman Shield Anderson and the late Barbara Wood Anderson. He was the husband of Margaret Berry Anderson.

He was the current president of Anderson Tire Company in Dillwyn where he worked for 33 years. A member of the Buckingham Cattleman's Association, he loved working on the farm and had a beef cattle operation. He loved riding his Harley Davidson with friends and was a strong supporter of charitable benefits.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; father, Herman Shield Anderson; daughter, Anne Tyler Anderson and her friend, Justin Hebert of Dillwyn; brother, Brian Keith and wife, Denise of Dillwyn; nieces, Amber and Bailey Anderson; nephew, Brooks Anderson; and special friends, John and Diane O'Bryant and Curtis and Vonda Wharam.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, at 11 a.m. at the Bethel United Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 26, from 6-9 p.m. at Puckett Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Bethel United Methodist Church.
