July 21 – “If you really want to do something, you'll find a way; if you don't, you'll find an excuse.”

Mrs. Flora Bolt enjoyed lunch on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Steve (Terri) Bolt, Garland Woodson, Wallace Woodson and friend Cindy at Applebee's.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray (Betty) Noblin visited their children; Mr. and Mrs. Dave (Paula) Noblin, Brady and Allie in Chesapeake for a few days last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Mike (Kelly) Hamlett of Maryland recently visited his uncle and family Mr. and Mrs. Lindy (Wanda) Hamlett. Lindy and Wanda enjoyed their visit greatly.

Saturday the 2 of July, Garland Woodson and Gene Southall motored to Sanford, North Carolina to get Debbie Woodson and bring her to Farmville to spend a week's vacation with her father, Garland.

On July 5, Debbie Woodson celebrated her birthday a few days early at Merk's Place. Those helping Debbie celebrate were her Father, Garland Woodson and friend Ann Parker; Brother Wallace Woodson of Henrico and friend Cindy; aunt Flora Bolt, family members Steve and Terri Bolt; and family friends Charlie and Michelle McKay.

On July 9, Garland Woodson and Ann Parker carried Debbie Woodson back to her home in Sanford, North Carolina.

Mr. and Mrs. John (Shirley) Fulcher along with Mr. and Mrs. Johnny (Nancy) Mottley spent several day last week in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. They had a wonderful time. Shirley will remember the Sky-lift ride for a long time.

Mr. Phil Kelsey of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, visited his mother Mrs. Peggy Kelsey on Saturday. Family members joined them for lunch. Phil was en-route to Richmond were he would be representing his company, Amciso.

Mr. and Mrs. John (Lois) Gager and their families recently spent a week at the Outer Banks, “Kill Devil Hills”.

On Sunday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith (Pat) attended a cookout at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Simpson (Robyn). Monday afternoon, Jeff Smith took his grandchildren, Charles and Christina Smith of Keysville, to the YMCA for an afternoon of swimming.

Monday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith (Pat) hosted the monthly covered dish dinner at their home, for the small group from Faith Bible Fellowship. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Richard McClintock (Deborah), Mr. and Mrs. John Utzinger (Rita) and Mr. Al Quinlan.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stockton spent a delightful day in Crewe last Friday as they attended the arrival of the restored passenger car from the Powhatan Arrow to the Crewe Railroad Museum.

Family, friends and neighbors are sending special get well wishes to all those who are sick at this time. Mae Shorter, Dale Mottley, Pat Smith, John Gager, and Loren Orange are in need of your special prayers.

Friends and neighbors are expressing their sincere sympathy to the family of James Kincaid.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with Worship at 11 a.m. Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will fill the pulpit this Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with Worship at 11 a.m.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30am. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simpson Road in Prospect, two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.
