July 7 – Happy Birthday wishes are sent out to Jane Grey, of Cumberland, and Florence Miles, of Rice, celebrating on Tuesday, July 12 and Steve Morris and Grace Martin, both of Dillwyn, celebrating on Wednesday, July 13.

Linda Miles, of Cumberland, visited in the home of Junior and Nancy Midkiff in Cumberland on Tuesday, July 5.

Our prayers and thoughts go out this week to all those who are sick and shut-in.

Pete and Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, visited in the home of Kevin and Rene Marion and their two daughters, Casey and Cheyenne, in Cumberland on Monday, July 4.

Congratulations to Lee and Sandy Sullivan of Cumberland. They will be celebrating their wedding anniversary on Tuesday, July 12.

Barry Miles, Ginger Guthrie and Janie Kear all of Cumberland, along with Cheryl Canipe of Henrico enjoyed an afternoon of great food, fun and fellowship at a Farmville restaurant on Tuesday, July 5.

Note: Due to severe weather Monday night, July 4, the Scottsville Fireworks were postponed and have been rescheduled for Saturday night, July 9 at Dorrier Park.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association a non-profit organization, will hold their regular monthly meeting on Monday, July 11 at 5 p.m. at the Restoration Outreach Church, located on U.S. Route 15 South of Sprouses Corner. All members are asked to attend and bring a covered dish for the evening meal. The special guest speaker is Henry Fulcher, of radio station WFLO in Farmville. Maranatha Baptist Church, located on Tuggle Road in Prince Edward County, offers a thought for the day, heard mornings on radio stations WVHL and WFLO. There will be a fundraising effort to support the program on Saturday, July 9. All are invited to stop by Wal-Mart from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (or until sold out) and purchase some fresh-squeezed lemonade and fresh-brewed ice tea.
