July 14 – Michael Mahoney, of Amelia, was a lunch guest in the home of Pete and Annie May Miles in Dillwyn on Friday, July 8.

Happy Birthday wishes are sent out this week to Helen Connell, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Monday, July 18; Bessie Clements, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Tuesday, July 19; and Marie Adams, of Farmville, celebrating on Thursday, July 21.

Bea England, of Dillwyn, spent last week in Georgia visiting grandchildren. A nice time was had.

Pete and Annie May Miles visited in the home of Curtis and Faye Marion in Cumberland on Friday, July 8.

James and Virginia Boyles, of Cumberland, and Elizabeth Stone, of Dillwyn, visited Allison Boyles in Amelia and Ralph Stafford in Burkeville on Thursday, July 7.

There will be a benefit Bar-B-Que dinner and concert on Saturday, July 23 for Debbie Trent, of Cumberland at Hatcher Baptist Church, located on Trents Mill Road in Cumberland County. At 4:30 til 6 p.m. bar-b-que dinners will be served for a donation. The menu includes pork bar-b-que, baked beans, coleslaw, dessert and a drink. A 6 p.m. Gospel music provided by Joyful Noise, Glory Road and the Ownby Sisters. A love offering will be received. Henry Fulcher of Radio Station WFLO in Farmville will serve as Master of Ceremonies. All are welcome to attend. All proceeds will be used to help Debbie with medical expenses as there is no insurance.
