DILLWYN, July 5 – Francis Richard Allen “Richard Jr.,” 82, of Dillwyn, passed away Friday, July 1, 2011 surrounded by family and friends at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Dillwyn.

He is survived by a son, Kendall Allen and wife, Kathy of Dillwyn; three grandsons, Brian and wife, Reva of Scottsville and Justin and Michael both of Dillwyn; two brothers, Wiley and wife, Linda of Dillwyn and Roy and wife, Margaret of Eden, NC; many nieces and nephews, special friends and caregivers of Heritage Hall Nursing Home. Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Charlotte Wharam Allen, his mother, Emma Raikes Allen, father, F. Richard Allen, eight brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Tuesday (today), July 5, at Dunkum Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Rocky Mount Methodist Church.
