PROSPECT, June 16 – Myrtle Dickerson Showalter, 89, passed away Wednesday June 15, 2011 in Prospect. She was the widow of William Harman Showalter.

She is survived by a son, Bobby Showalter and wife, Joann of Prospect; a daughter, Alice S. Templeton and husband, Murray of Crewe; son-in-law, Gene A. Southall of Farmville; grandchildren, Sherry Clark and husband, Kevin of Prospect, Paige Epps and husband, Tony of Rice, Gena Southall-Davis and husband, Scott of Mannboro, Robert Templeton and wife, Michele of Burkeville, Ricky Templeton and wife, Terry of Lynchburg, Will Showalter and wife, Lauren of Farmville, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pattie Southall and brother, George Dickerson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 17 in the Chapel of Shorter Funeral Home with interment to follow at Olive Branch United Methodist Church in Prospect. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to the time of service at the funeral home.
