The Cumberland County Planning Commission will meet on Monday, June 20, 2011, at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in Room C-8 of the Cumberland County Community Center located at the corner of Anderson Highway (Route 60) and Forest View Road (Route 628) in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-2204, which such hearing may be continued or adjourned, as required under applicable law, and to consider the following item and taking actions in furtherance thereof:

Rezoning No. 11-02 – A request to change approximately 1.417 acres of property currently zoned R-2, Rural Residential to B-1, Business. The applicant also proposes to change approximately 1.422 acres currently zoned B-1, Business to the R-2 Rural Residential zoning district.

Tax Map #s 57, Section A, Parcel 24A, with respect to 2.839 total acres. The affected property is located on the north side of Anderson Highway (Route 60) adjacent to the intersection of Criss Road (Rt. 669) and Anderson Highway (Route 60). The property is within the Courthouse Growth Area as designated by the Comprehensive Plan and is within election district 3.

Copies of the complete text of the above rezoning request and associated plan are available for public review at the office of the Cumberland County Planning Department, County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, Virginia between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm of each business day. The public is invited to attend these hearings at which persons affected may appear and present their views.
