Prince Edward County High School senior Alicia Moseley won the state championship in Poetry at the VHSL State Forensics competition March 26. The PECHS Forensics Team placed fourth among all AA schools. Dylan Abrams and Maurice Davis-Taylor came in sixth in Humorous Duo Interpretation, and Carter Chassey placed third in Humorous Dramatic Interpretation. Other PECHS students who competed at the state level included Jake Dixon (Extemporaneous Speaking), Katrina Lowe (Original Oratory), and Waldell Goode and Amber Harvin (Serious Duo Interpretation). Debbie Rush is the coach for Eagles Forensics. Assisting VHSL officials at the meet was PECHS student DaQuan Johnson, a member of the VHSL Student Action Team.
