MAY 31 – Leona May Watson, 86, of Farmville, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011. She was born in Knoxville, TN to the late Robert and Essie Lawson Sise. She served during World War II as a machinist in Oakridge, TN and was member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Judy Black and husband, David of Farmville; son, Roy A. Watson Jr. and wife, Marilyn of Cumberland; sister, Wanda Hessenberger of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, David Reese Black and wife, Cheryl of Minot, ND, Troy J. Black and wife, Sharon of Farmville, Ashley W. Dawson and husband, Randy of Dillwyn and Krissie Watson of Cumberland and great-grandchildren, Travis Black, Cheyanne Black, Austin Black, Mia Black, Kaylee Tyson, Cody Francisco, Chase Francisco and Harley Edwards.

A funeral service was conducted Monday, May 30, in the chapel of Shorter Funeral Home, with interment in Westview Cemetery.
