H-SC Names Local Graduates

Students with ties to the local community were among the 218 men who graduated on Sunday, May 8, at commencement exercises marking the end of the 236th academic year at Hampden-Sydney College. The students are:

Matthew Aaron Jones graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in philosophy and religion. A graduate of Halifax County High School, he is the son of the Rev. Jeffrey and Mrs. Pam Jones, of Nathalie, and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Slayton, of Farmville.

Basil Alphanso Panton graduated with a B.S. in chemistry. A graduate of Titchfield High School, he is the son of Ms. Judith D. Webber of Portland, Jamaica.

Sumner Riddick Pugh IV graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in history. A graduate of Lakeside High School in Evans, GA, he is the son of Rick and Lisa Pugh of Martinez, GA, previously of Farmville.

Mohit Shrestha graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in mathematical economics and applied mathematics. A graduate of Malpi Institute, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mohan B. Shrestha of Kathmandu, Nepal.

Arne Ulbrich graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in biology and chemistry. A graduate of Gymnasium Vegesack, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Xaver Ulbrich of Bremen, Germany.

Hendrick Malte Ziller graduated, magna cum laude with a B.A. in economics and commerce. A graduate of Germany Schools, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Ziller of Taunusstein, Germany.

Andrew Timothy Armentrout graduated with a B.A. in foreign affairs. A graduate of Randolph-Henry High School, he is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Armentrout of Charlotte Court House.

James Grayson Howard graduated with a B.A. in history. A graduate of Randolph-Henry High School, he is the son of Kenny and Mary Howard of Keysville.

Zachary A. Pack graduated with a B.A. in psychology. A graduate of Randolph-Henry High School, he is the son of Samuel A. Pack, of Keysville.

Thomas Bartlett Peaden graduated with a B.A. in English. A graduate of Randolph-Henry High School, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bret Peaden of Keysville.

James Sydnor Reynolds IV graduated with a B.S. in mathematics, mathematical economics, and applied mathematics. A graduate of Prince Edward County High School, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James S. Reynolds of Prospect.

Cody Corbett Farrish graduated with a B.A. in economics. A graduate of Fluvanna County High School, he is the son of Judy Farrish of Palmyra and Gary Farrish of Scottsville.
