RHOADESVILLE, April 12 – Virginia Wright Newman, 96, of Rhoadesville, died at her residence on Sunday, April 10, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Newman Sr.

Ms. Newman was the daughter of the late Walter and Annie Wright and was also predeceased by a grandson, two brothers, Robert and Walter Wright, and three sisters, Pauline Bollinger, Naomi Parker and Annie Crowder.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Newman Jr. and Douglas Newman and wife, Margaret all of Rhoadesville; two daughters, Roberta Collins and Charlotte Banks and husband, Joseph all of Rockville, Maryland; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sarah Jenkins of Green Bay and Gladys Brown Loan of Farmville.

Funeral services and burial will be held on Thursday, April 14, at 11 a.m. at the Rhoadesville Baptist Church, Rhoadesville, with the Reverend Nancy Stanton McDaniel officiating.
