April 14 – “If you want to leave footprints in the sands of time, wear work shoes..”

The Presbyterian Women of Clusters 1, 2 and 3 held their Spring Meeting in South Boston this past Saturday. Mrs. Sadie Kelsey and Mrs. Joann Stanley represented the Farmville Presbyterian Church at this gathering.

The Farmville Train Station was the setting for the 60th Anniversary party held for Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fulcher this past Sunday afternoon. The party was given by their daughter. Family and friends gathered to help them celebrate, among those present were Mr. and Mrs. John Fulcher.

Mr. and Mrs. Don (Betty) Meadows traveled to Richmond on Thursday the 7th to attend the program “Jungle Book” put on at the Pembleton Elementary School in Richmond. Their granddaughter, Kate Shotwell was in the program.

Mr. and Mrs. John (Nancy) Mottley dined at the Huddle House on Saturday night, joining them was their daughter, Linda Smith; grandson, Steven Thompson, their friend Jennifer and her daughters.

Family and friends honored Mrs. Lois Gager with a very special 80th Birthday Party on Saturday at St. Theresa's Parrish House. Lois remarked she had celebrated all month so far. The theme of the party was the '30's with some of the guest coming dressed accordingly.

Mr. and Mrs. Don (Betty) Meadows attended the birthday celebration for Mrs. Lois Gager.

Mrs. Flora Bolt, Mr. and Mrs. Doug (Betty Jean) Bolt, and Mr. and Mrs. Dale (Judy) Bolt, Chris and Jennifer Bolt were among those helping Mrs. Lois Gager celebrate her birthday.

Mrs. Flora Bolt had lunch on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Dale (Judy) Bolt and their children Chris and Jennifer Bolt.

Richard Stockton had nice visits by way of the telephone from two of his cousins, Kenneth Stockton and Toby Shelton. this past week.

Family, friends and neighbors are sending special get well wishes to all those who are sick at this time. Abby Kelsey, Ray Kelsey and Ralph Haga are in need of your special prayers.

Friends and neighbors are extending their sincere sympathy to those who have lost loved ones this past week.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will fill the pulpit this Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. Harlan Austin will be in the pulpit this Sunday.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simpson Road in Prospect, two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.
