Mr. and Mrs. Douglas S. Farley, of Rice, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Leah Marie, to David Matthew Reed, son of David Reed, of Kailua, HI, and Ms. Dee Reed, of Church Road.

Leah is a 2008 graduate of Lunenburg Central High School and is currently enrolled as a student at ODU.

Matt is a 2007 graduate of Kenston Forest and is currently serving in the US Navy in Norfolk.

Leah is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Shanaberger, of Farmville, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Shipman Farley.

Matt is the grandson of Mrs. Betty Davis and the late John R. Hawkes, of Church Road, and Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Reed, of Kailua, HI.

A wedding is planned for July 2.
