APRIL 21 – Rosa Ardith Harmon Stout, 97, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at the Woodland in Farmville. She was born on February 3, 1914, in Avery County, NC and moved to Buckingham County in 1946. She was a devoted mother and homemaker who always put the needs of others before her own.
Ms. Stout is survived by nine children, Shirley Huddleston and husband, Richard of Richmond, Evelyn Taylor and husband, Carl Ray of Midlothian, Bobby Stout and wife, Jean of Dothan, AL, Larry Stout of Buckingham, Jack Stout and wife, Marie of Midlothain, Teddy Stout and wife, Mimi of Lorton, Novil Stout Jr. and wife, Alice of Middlebrook, Johnny Stout and wife, Patricia of Buckingham and Deborah Speas of Cumberland; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Novil Erin Stout and her oldest daughter, Betty Huddleston.
The family will receive friends at Dunkum Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. on April 22.
Services will be at Salem United Methodist Church, Dillwyn, at 3 p.m. on April 23 with interment in the church cemetery immediately after the services.
