The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors will meet on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in the Circuit Courtroom at the Cumberland Courthouse in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-2204, which such hearing may be continued or adjourned, as required under applicable law, and to consider the following item and taking actions in furtherance thereof:

Conditional Use Permit No. 11-01, National Communication Towers, LLC – A request in accordance with Sec. 74-143 of the Cumberland County zoning ordinance to grant a conditional use permit to allow for a “telecommunications tower and related facilities.” The Board of Supervisors will also review conditions for the proposed use. The telecommunications tower is proposed to be 250 feet in height. The request concerns the following property:

County Tax Map 54, Section A, Parcel 19 with respect to approximately 47.63 acres. The affected property is currently zoned R-2, Rural Residential and A-2, Agricultural. The proposed tower would be on an approximately 125 foot by 125 foot leased on the portion of the property with A-2 zoning. The parcel is not within a growth area as designated by the Comprehensive Plan. The affected property is located in Election District 2 and is accessed from an existing easement on the north side of Anderson Hwy. (Route 60) approximately one half (1/2) mile east of the boundary of the Cumberland County and Buckingham County line.

Copies of the complete text of the above conditional use permit request and associated plan are available for public review at the office of the Cumberland County Planning Department, County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, Virginia and may be inspected between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm of each business day. The public is invited to attend this hearing at which persons affected may appear and present their views.
