PUBLIC HEARING

The Cumberland County Board of Zoning Appeals will meet on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in room C-8 of the Cumberland County Community Center located at the corner of Anderson Highway (Route 60) and Forest View Road (Route 628) in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-2204, which such hearing may be continued or adjourned, as required under applicable law, and to consider the following item and taking actions in furtherance thereof:

BZA 11-01: Parker H. & Jean S. Wheeler (Electoral District 5) requests a variance from the requirements of Section 74-227 of the Cumberland County Zoning Ordinance regarding the building setback from a side property line with respect to approximately 0.459 of an acre of Tax Map 110, Insert AG, Section 1, Parcel F2. The affected property is zoned R-1, Residential.

The applicant requests the setback required for structures from the northern side property line be varied from twenty-five (25) feet to fifteen (15) feet to allow for an expansion of an existing dwelling. The affected property has a physical address of 318 Dana Drive, Farmville, Virginia, 23901 and is located within the Kimberly Hill Subdivision. The affected property is located on the west side of Dana Drive (Rt. 1013) approximately 150 feet south of the intersection of Dana Drive and Lynn Drive (Rt. 1011). The affected property is located within the Farmville Growth Area as designated by the Comprehensive Plan.

Copies of the complete application and text of the above variance request are available for public review at the office of the Cumberland County Planning Department between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm of each business day.
