FARMVILLE – Rep. Robert Hurt has opened a Fifth District regional office for constituent services in Farmville.

The 515 S. Main Street address within the Longwood Small Business Development Center's building is the same location used by former congressmen Virgil Goode and Tom Perriello.

The office opened this week, Rep. Hurt announced Monday afternoon, and will be staffed by Paul Hoffman, who will be Farmville Field Office Director.

Hoffman, who wrote an op-ed column that regularly appeared on the editorial pages of The Farmville Herald, has a wealth of political and government experience, having served as State Director to then-congressmen Dick Cheney in Wyoming, and as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the US Department of the Interior in Washington, DC., during the presidency of George W. Bush, from 2002 to 2008.

The California native lives in Prince Edward County and has been unit secretary for the Prince Edward County Republican Party.

The office's phone number is 395-0120 and the fax number is 395-1248.
