Among Highest Meals Taxes In The U.S.

Editor, The Herald:
Referencing my diatribe about Farmville's proposed increase in the meals tax, graciously published in the Letter to the Editor Section of the April 15th Herald, a single letter was omitted from a word that changes the context somewhat. I wrote that the increase would place the tax among the highest of the type in the country (which admittedly is probably an overstatement – I was trying to make a point).
The word ended up in print as county which gave no impetus to the statement – perhaps I should have used the word state as a comparator – considering the current economic climate, I still think a meals tax increase is unconscionable, at best a regressive move.
