Frances Thurman, 72

MIDLOTHIAN, March 15 – Frances Seay Thurman, 72, of Midlothian, died at her home on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, after a short but well fought battle with cancer. She was the widow of John T. Thurman. She was born May 1, 1938 to the late Rice Lawrence Seay and Mary Lovelace Seay of Andersonville, Buckingham County.

She was retired from The Great Big Green House in Midlothian.

Surviving are a son, John R. (Jay) Thurman, his wife, Mary L. Thurman, and a grandson, John Mann (Manny) Thurman of Midlothian; siblings, Mary Anne Harver (Wilbur), Rice L. Seay Jr., and Carolyn Morris (Roger) all of Buckingham County, J. Marshall Seay (Angie) of Powhatan, Betty Keith (Jack) of Glen Allen, W. Earl Seay (Anne) of Doswell, and Jean Hollins (Willie) of Bumpass; sister-in-law, Rose S. Seay of Mechanicsville; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert (Bob) Seay.

A memorial of her life was held on Saturday, March 12, at Woody Funeral Home, Huguenot Chapel.

The family suggests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
