CREWE, March 24 – Clarence Jay Kemp, 51, of Crewe passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2011 in Charlottesville. He was born September 11, 1959 to the late Clarence Albert and Lucy Marie Tracey Kemp. He was a United States Navy veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Kemp of Crewe; children, Tony Kemp and wife, Lindsay of Burkeville, Mandy Kemp Cannon and husband, Mike of Chesterfield and Shawn Michael McGinnis of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Peyton Emma Cannon and Nathan Redford Kemp; five brothers, Herbert Kemp, Albert Kemp, Jimmy Kemp, Roger Kemp and Ronnie Kemp and four sisters, Joyce Gruber, Trina Bennett, Virginia Monroe and Marie Lewis.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 25, at Farmville Church of Christ.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m., Thursday at the church.
