PARKSLEY, Feb. 10 – Maude Lee Bull Godwin, 94, wife of the late Clarence Hundley Godwin Jr. and a resident of Parksley, formerly of Farmville, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Arcadia Nursing Center in Parksley.
Born on September 7, 1916 in Parksley, she was a daughter of the late Floyd Samuel Bull and Carrie Lee Bundick Bull. Mrs. Godwin was a homemaker, and was a member of Parksley Baptist Church where she had been very active, a member of WMU, and had arranged altar flowers for many years. She had been a member of Garden Clubs and Woman's Clubs in both Farmville and Accomack County.
Survivors include a sister, Jackie Mears and husband, Willie Edward of Parksley; nieces and nephews, Beth Scott, Alisin Jackson, Philip Godwin, Fitzhugh Godwin, III, Connie Rutledge, Deane Taylor and C.W. Godwin; several great-nieces and great-nephews, including Chase, Luke, Zachary, Jakob and Sadie; and her predeceased daughter's friend, Robert White of Sydney, Australia.
Other than her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara 'Kaye' Godwin, a son, Gregory Scott Godwin; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Parksley Baptist Church on Saturday, February 12, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bob Boyce and the Rev. Philip Godwin officiating. Interment will follow at the Parksley Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the church one hour prior to the service.
