CUMBERLAND, Feb. 24 – Louise Becker (Brinkerhoff) Rothe, 96, of Cumberland, entered heaven to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, February 23, 2011. She was one of the eight children of the late George and Theresa Brinkenhoff of Hackensack, NJ.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 56 years, Lt. Col Clarence H. “Larry” Rothe, USAF Ret.; four children, Russell Sanborn of Beaufort, NC, David Sanborn of Washington Township, NJ, Patricia “Pat” Christian of Mechanicsville, and Carole Anne Lilly of Forest; sister, Ruth Schuyler of St. Petersburg, FL; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with which she was blessed. Mrs. Rothe was also called “Mom” by her niece, Tamalane “Tammy” Kranenburg of Madison, whom she helped raise and by many in the community who she also adopted with her love, acts of kindness and prayers.

Her dedication to God and long time support of New Life Assembly of God Church in Farmville are well known. She will be greatly missed by many.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 26, at New Life Assembly of God Church, Farmville. Interment will follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:3o p.m., Friday, at the funeral home and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

Those who wish may consider memorials to New Life Assembly of God Church, Louise B. Rothe Benevolent Fund, 9 Mahan Road, Farmville, VA 23901 for the benefit of the poor and afflicted, the widows and the orphans in the local community.
