PE Swimmers Set Three Records

The Prince Edward County High School boys swim team swam against Fuqua, Blessed Sacrament Huguenot, and Richmond Christian School last Friday night at the Farmville YMCA.
The Prince Edward medley relay team of West Bogese (backstroke), Joe Gills (breaststroke), Austin Bailey (butterfly) and Bobby Burke (freestyle) set a school record with a time of 1:54.02 in the event win.
Their time broke the previous school mark by more than four seconds.
In the second relay event of the night, the 200 yard freestyle relay team of Bailey (sophmore), Liam Burke (freshman), Bogese (freshman) and Bobby Burke (sophmore) were able to finish 16 seconds ahead of second place BS-H and managed to make the state cut time of 1:37.69 by .03 seconds with a time of 1:37.66.
The four set another school record, bettering the old mark by two seconds.
In the last relay event of the night, the 400 freestyle relay team of Bobby Burke, Gills, Bogese and Bailey set a third school relay record in the event win.
Their time of 3:41.85 was a whopping seven seconds off the previous mark, and came within three seconds of making the state championship cut time.
These swimmers will compete at the AA state swim championship in Christiansburg, toward the end of February.
