The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors will meet on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in the Circuit Courtroom at the Cumberland Courthouse in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-1427, which such hearing may be continued or adjourned, as required under applicable law, to consider the following item and taking actions in furtherance thereof:

Code Amendment 11-02 – Proposed Amendment to the Code of Cumberland County, Virginia: “An Ordinance Amending Chapter 62 of the Cumberland County Code, specifically adding Article III to provide for the authorization to use golf carts and utility vehicles on public highways in the county.” The proposed amendment would prescribe the requirements for, and the authorization to, use golf carts and utility vehicles on certain public roads within the county and the penalties for violations thereof.

Copies of the complete text of the above proposed ordinance, resolution and associated documents are available for public review at the County Administrator's office in the Cumberland County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, Virginia between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm of each business day. The public is invited to attend the hearing at which persons affected may appear and present their views orally or in writing.
