MEHERRIN, Dec. 9 – Pearl Owens-Scott, 76, of Meherrin died peacefully at Trinity Mission Nursing Home in Farmville on Sunday, December 5, 2010. Pearl Marie Owens was born June 8, 1934 to the Junius Nathen Owens and Louise White Owens in Meherrin. She was the wife of the late Willie Scott.

She received her education at the Mission School in Meherrin and was a member of Forest Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her precious precious memories, a son, Lee J. Owens of Meherrin; a special niece whom she raised, Annie Marie Owens Dungee of Cullen; sister, Eunice Spraggs of Riverhead, NY; two brothers-in-law, Patrick Scott and Henry Scott; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and devoted caretakers.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Louise Bailey, Eva Tanner, Rosa Jefferson and Annie Florence Knight.

Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday, December 11, at the Forest Baptist Church in Meherrin with interment in the church cemetery.
