Lois L. Styfurak 93

PENNSYLVANIA, Dec. 28 – Lois L. Styfurak, 93, of Indiana, PA, went peacefully to her heavenly home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 24, 2010. She was born October 21, 1917 in Sevierville, TN, to the late James H. Lewis and Cora Bella Loveday Lewis.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She also loved and appreciated her church family (wherever she was) and was a faithful and active member of First Assembly of God. She also enjoyed tending her vegetable and flower garden.
Mrs. Styfurak was employed for many years by G.C. Murphy Co. of Indiana and several years at Craddock-Terry Shoe Corp. and Roses Stores, Inc. in Farmville.
She is survived by her children, Dorothy Gillispie and husband, Earl of Prospect, Frances Slansky of Indiana, PA, Deborah Shirey and husband, Sam of New Kensington, PA, and Walton Carter of Indiana, PA; three step-children, George Styfurak Jr. and wife, Marge of Aliquippa, PA, Joseph Styfurak and wife, Lois of Cleveland, OH, and Marie Lingler and husband of Parma, OH; daughter-in-law, Rose Leatherwood of Hampton; sister, Jane Rostis of Indiana, PA; brother, Eugene Lewis and wife, Joann of Farmville; sisters-in-law, Lena Lewis of Farmville, and Janet Lewis of Hollywood, FL; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy B. Leatherwood Sr., C. Glenwood Carter, and George Styfurak; two sons, Roy B. Leatherwood Jr. and James Earl Leatherwood; son-in-law, Joseph Slansky; five brothers, Floyd, Leonard, Walter, Boyd and infant brother, Mack Lewis; five sisters, Leona Dunn, Frankie Parton, Zelma Johnson; and infant sisters, Besie Lewis and Nellie Lewis.
A memorial service was held Monday, December 27 at Lefdahl's Funeral Home in Indiana, PA.
Funeral services will be conducted at Shorter Funeral Home at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 30. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of service. Burial will be in Trinity Memorial Gardens.
