New Life Assembly of God Performing Arts Ministry will present their annual Christmas musical, “My Big Fat Christmas Wedding.” There will be a total of seven performances with opening night on Friday, December 3, at 7 p.m. The other performances are scheduled for Saturday, December 4, at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. The second weekend performances are Friday, December 10, also at 7 p.m., Saturday, December 1, two performances at 1and 6 p.m., and the final performance on Sunday, December 12, at 4 p.m.

“My Big Fat Christmas Wedding” is another New Life original, written by Mark Bartow, Lisa Potter and Rob Stream. This musical uses the cultural differences of two families and their coming together in the end to show the importance of “amore” in other words, “that's love.” The musical is a fast-paced and funny story that allows for much exaggeration. Although this will be the second year for the musical, many changes have been made to keep the performance fresh and original.

“We intentionally write the Christmas musical so that the audience will be caught up in much laughter,” stated Mark Bartow, Director of the Performing Arts Ministry at New Life. He also stated, “The set and costumes are also wonderful, especially in the scene that takes us back to the 1950's. We have restored a 1957 Chevy and bring it onto the stage, as well as singing many of the familiar tunes that made the 1950's so memorable.”
