GREEN BAY, Nov. 30 – Fred U. West, 86, of Green Bay passed away Friday, November 26, 2010. He was born October 18, 1924 in Columbus, Georgia, the son of the late Alice and Alton West.
Mr. West was a member of Liberty Christian Church in Green Bay where he served as Deacon and Elder. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Upon retirement from many years of dairy farming, he became an electrician at Piedmont Geriatric Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Florence Jones West; daughter, Gayle West Farmer; son-in-law, Allen B. Farmer; son, George Palmer West; and daughter-in-law, Juleen West, all of Green Bay; three granddaughters, Katie Farmer Thompson, Robin Lee West and Megan West Rundstrum; three grandsons, Fred Farmer, Adam Farmer and Joshua Palmer West; seven great-grandsons, Cole, Conner and Cyler Farmer, Blane and Levi Thompson, Austin Kassel and Brian Rundstrum and one sister, Frances West Alford of Texas.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, November 29, at Liberty Christian Church with interment in the church cemetery.
