Ceremony Held

The marriage of Miss Elizabeth Kylene Sumner, of Richmond, daughter of Mrs. Cathleen Elliott Hinson, of Williamsburg, and Anthony Walbert Sumner, of Simsbury, CT, to William Henry Perkins, of Manakin Sabot, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Wayne Perkins Sr., of Manakin Sabot, took place October 9 at Second Baptist Church, Richmond.
The Rev. Dr. Raymond L. Spence Jr. officiated.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
Juliana Sumner Burgess and Emily Joelle Sumner, sisters of the bride, served as the matron and maid of honor respectively. MaKayla Elizabeth Elliott and Rachael Woodruff Goettl, cousins of the bride, were flower girls.
Russell Wayne Perkins Sr., father of the groom, and Russell Wayne Perkins Jr., brother of the groom, were the groom's best men. Nephew of the groom Russell Walker Perkins served as ring bearer.
The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom's parents, was held at The Richmond Country Club in Richmond.
A reception with dinner and dancing followed the wedding ceremony at The Tuckahoe Woman's Club in Windsor Farms.
The bride and the groom both attended The Steward School. The bride is a 2004 graduate of The University of Georgia, and the groom is a 2005 graduate of Hampden-Sydney College.
They are both employed in Richmond, where they will reside following a trip to St. Lucia.
