SEPTEMBER 7 – Ruth Brite Morrissett, 83, of Farmville, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2010 in Farmville. She was born October 13, 1926 in Farmville, the daughter of the late Clifton and Hazel Phillips Brite. She was retired with over 40 years of service from the Esther May Shop in Farmville.

Mrs. Morrissett was the widow of Aubrey T. Morrissett. She was a long-time member of Farmville Baptist Church and sang in the choir. She loved her family, friends and her home here in Farmville.

She is survived by her son, Aubrey T. Morrissett Jr. of Danville; daughter, Martha Knauer and husband, Jeff of Virginia Beach; sister, Elise Lacy of South Hill; granddaughter, Stefanie Ruth and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 18, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Hills, 800 Oak Street, Farmville, VA 23901.
