DILLWYN, Sept. 16 – Ruby Worsham Shumaker, 76, of Dillwyn, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010 in Richmond.

Mrs. Shumaker retired from Reynolds Metal with 26 years of service. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Dillwyn.

She is survived by her husband, Ervin DuVal Shumaker Sr. of 59 years; daughter, Gloria Jean Daniel and husband, Doug of Richmond; son, Ervin DuVal Shumaker Jr. and wife, Ree of Goochland; granddaughter, Heather Daniel; step-granddaughter, Abbegail Preddy; two sisters, Cora W. O'Bryant and Mary W. Gotschalk; and brother, James D. Worsham Jr., all of Richmond; and five nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, James D. Sr. and Lillian Worsham, three sisters, Dorothy Stough, Bessie Marsh and Evelyn Thompson, and a brother, Irvin Worsham.

A funeral service will be held Friday, September 17, at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, with interment in the Dillwyn Town Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday evening at the Dillwyn Baptist Church.

Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Dillwyn Rescue Squad.
