Master Gardeners Plan Fall Gardening Series

The Heart of Virginia Master Gardeners are proud to welcome two members to the Fall Gardening Series. Liz Dunn and Deanna Fehrer will be speaking on October 15 at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively.

Liz Dunn will be presenting the topic “Water Gardening Made Easy” at 7 p.m. Miss Liz has been water gardening since 1993 and feels that it does not have to be an expensive or time consuming pastime. She will show how to create a water garden retreat.

Deanna Fehrer will speak on “Rain Gardens” at 8 p.m. Miss Deanna is a charter member of the Heart of Virginia Master Gardeners and works for the Piedmont Soil and Water Conservation District which helps to protect natural resources. She is a proponent of using native plants and utilizing rain gardens to build a healthier landscape by controlling rain water runoff.

This event will take place at the Prince Edward County Extension Office, located at 100 Dominion Road in Farmville (across from Lowe's and under the water tower) in the Natural Resources and Agricultural Building. This lecture is free and open to the public. Please come early, as seating will be limited.
