CUMBERLAND – Two suspects of a home invasion in Cumberland County were apprehended during the course of an ongoing investigation Thursday, according to Cumberland Sergeant of Investigations James Turney.

Investigator Turney told The Herald on Thursday that the home invasion occurred late Sunday/early Monday morning (September 5 and September 6) at a residence “off of Raines Tavern Road.”

“I think we got the call at 11:55…because I know I got the call at 12:05 a.m.,” said Investigator Turney.

Both of the suspects live in Prince Edward County and charges are pending as Cumberland County's Sheriff's Office works jointly with the Prince Edward Sheriff's Office and Town of Farmville police, Investigator Turney said.

“They were apprehended by Farmville Police Department during the course of one of their investigations,” he said. “We've been working on that jointly…”

Two people were home at the time of the invasion and, according to Investigator Turney one male victim was treated at Centra Southside Community Hospital for minor injuries and later released.

“A small amount of cash was taken,” he said.
