Yolanda “Mema” Daye, 84

GLADYS, Dec. 30 – Yolanda “Mema” Klein Daye, 84, of Gladys, passed away, Sunday, December 14, 2008, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of William A. Daye, Jr. for 48 years.

She was born in Campbell County, the daughter of the late Frank Herbert Klein and Lutie Adams Klein. She was a member of Kedron Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery, cared for her entire family most of her adult life and was a community child-care sitter.

She is survived by a son, Barry F. Daye and wife, Linda of Gladys; a daughter, Leigh Daye Isaacs and husband, Barry of Gladys; two brothers, Samuel Klein, of Brookneal and Jacob “Hoy” Klein of Gladys; a sister, Alice Klein of Gladys; four granddaughters, Brandy E. Daye, Julia N., Jessica R., and Jenna B. Isaacs; and one great-granddaughter, Makayla R. Isaacs. A brother, Charles Klein preceded her in death.

A funeral service was conducted Thursday, Dec. 18, at Kedron Baptist Church, Gladys, by the Rev. Brian Reynolds. Interment followed at Fort Hill Memorial Park, Lynchburg.
